I love the little things in life, including this cute little surprise from the sweetest boyfriend ever. I was running late to school earlier today and came home to find this waiting for me on my kitchen counter.

Club 33
In celebration of Auntie Diane's 30 years with AT&T, we were so lucky to live it up at Disneyland's exclusive Club 33. A few of my favorite cousins drove down from Northern California, as well as my favorite Uncle Glenn. It was so much fun getting to spend some much overdue time with my family AND eat an uhhhh-mazing meal AND be at Disneyland all day.
Here's the whole gang, excited to celebrate at the happiest place on earth!

Fancy shmancy place setting! Bring on the food!
*drool*
My eyes were definitely bigger than my tummy. After eating endless crab, lobster, and shrimp in addition to my filet mignon entree, I could barely fit these yummy little confectionaries in!
Happy 30th work anniversary, Auntie Diane!

Backyard Makeover
After a few sun bathing sessions in my back yard, I realized it was time to give it a little bit of a lift :) All the rocks, weeds, and lack of water were making the space a little sad looking, but after a few hours of sweat, elbow grease, and help from the bf, it's looking a lot better!
BEFORE:
Auntie Diane got me a tomato plant to start my veggie/herb garden! But before planting it, the tarp and rocks had to go...
Micah getting rid of the tarp and rocks that were on top.
Disposing MORE rocks...
Micah found a not-so-friendly lizard! He thought it was a snake at first because its tail was so long in comparison to the rest of its body! Meanie lizard is now living on the other side of the brick wall :)
Okay, so it looks like Micah is doing all the work, but I promise I helped too! Most of the rocks, weeds, and tarp are all gone!
We mixed Miracle Grow soil in with the native soil to help pump up the nutrients for the new plants.
TA-DA! Veggie/Herb Garden complete with cilantro, basil, raspberries, tomatoes, green bell peppers, jalepenos, zucchini, and carrots (you can't see the carrots, but they're there)! Can't wait until everything is growing, ripening, and ready to eat!

BEFORE:
This is the planter you see right when you walk outside to the backyard. Notice the overgrown rose bush (at least that's what we think it was) and the ceramic duck (we found another smaller one hidden behind the rose bush).
Micah dug about 2 feet deep to get the rose bush roots out, and found this tropical-esque palm tree plant hiding behind it! We're hoping it'll grow now that it's not completing with another plant.

Happy One Week
Happy one week anniversary, PJ & Andrew!
My dear friend PJ married her bestie last Friday at Strawberry Farms in Irvine, CA. I remember when PJ called me to tell me she was engaged, she gushed about how she had had THE biggest crush on Andrew in college, and almost had to pinch herself to believe they were now getting married! It was a beautiful day for a beautiful couple, and it was such an honor to be a part of your big day! Many blessings to a fun, exciting, and great marriage!

Sushi
Meet my new roommate, Sushi! She is a total bed hog, even at her small size, and rules the house, but she is THE cutest thing under the sun :)
Auntie Diane found a litter of kittens in Obaachan and Ojiichan's back yard, and being the cat lover that she is, became their kitty guardian and spoiled them with Stitch's spare food. There were two orange kittens, a black one, and then a Siamese-mix-runt-of-the-litter, who has become my beloved little fur ball. When we first found Sushi, she had an eye infection and was the smallest and skinniest. Being the runt, she got left behind alone a lot, and at one point, was under the attack of the wild parrots that live in the area! She had no meow, so she couldn't call for her mom, but luckily, guardian Auntie Diane came to the rescue and held her until mama cat came back for her. She was the bravest (and probably the hungriest) because every time we put food out, she was always the first to venture out for some good eats! I love having her and am so glad she has come to be my kitty!
Sushi in the wild! ... and a little sad looking :(
She was only 13 ounces the day I took her home, and oh so tiny!
It's so hard to take pictures of her because she's always so intrigued with the camera and wants to play, but I managed to snap this adorable shot of her.
The days of not being able to meow are officially over.
Stare-down! She loves to perch up on our shoulders, tops of our knees, basically anywhere that's elevated.
Auntie Diane helped me give baby her first bath! We waited until her eye was all healed up before dunking her in the sink. She was so good, she didn't cry or put up a huge fuss, although she doesn't look like she's enjoying her bath all that much! Poor kitty!
Can you believe THIS little thing used to sleep in the bushes?! Talk about rags to riches!
Playing the role of damsel in distress.
ROOMIES! And one of her favorite cuddle spots... up close and personal.
Modeling... looks like she's getting the hang of the teionapapparazzi!

Destination: Los Angeles
WE MADE IT!!!
We got in Sunday evening, just in time to come home to some fabulous BBQ that my Auntie Diane had whipped up for us! She is amazing. My mom was a HUGE help to us, and helped drive our 16-foot truck and provide us with some great comical relief. :) Thanks Mommy!
We have spent the last couple days unpacking, painting, running errands, and getting all settled into a new area; it's been a nonstop adventure! Micah is living in Hollywood, and I'm a 25 minute drive over in Temple City. A big shout out to Jon, who I've known since kindergarden... he's given Micah a place to live and has been so welcoming to the both of us! Their place is a cute spacious Spanish style duplex, and is super close to the W hotel and the Walk of Fame! My house is going to be a fun project. My aunt and uncle inherited my uncle's mom's house, and was she QUITE the collector! If the Queen of England had a fancy over-the-top vintage get-away, this would be it. Micah and I have already transformed my room, and it's pretty much the only modern day room in the entire house, haha. It will be fun to see how the rest of the house is transformed!
Most my stuff is still in boxes, but once I dig my camera cord out, I will post some pictures of our move and new homes! Until then, hopefully this picture of Micah will hold you over. We were at a rest stop somewhere along I-5... he looks so happy to be in the sun!
